3D Printlife welcomes Featured Artist Ralph Zoontjens

Ralph Zoontjens, Eindhoven, Netherlands.
This month, Ralph shares his contemporary designs ranging from the practical to the whimsical – each ready for 3D printing at home.
Ralph was born in Tilburg, a Dutch city once famous for its textile industry. He has a Master's degree in Industrial Design from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he currently works as a student coach.
His interest in 3D printed products started about 10 years ago, when the process was mostly used in the design industry as a rapid prototyping technique - a quick way to make ideas for new products physical. Now that the first affordable home printers are on the market, Ralph is actively pursuing the creation of end products made through 3D printing. He aims at items that are functional, beautiful, and have personal value.
Ralph has also worked on the design of consumer products, vehicles, and graphic design. He has always had great affinity with drawing and studying the natural world. All of these influences can be seen in Ralph’s designs featured here in 3D Printlife.
Ralph comments, “As an industrial designer, I don't just create things; I aim to create experiences through interactions, with the thing merely facilitating that interaction.”
